
Daan oversees Arq's policy research. His work focuses on securing robust access to frontier AI, building sovereign AI infrastructure, and investing in AI preparedness and resilience.
Previously, at the Centre for Future Generations, Daan led research on the institutional design of a CERN for AI, co-authored a large AI scenario study and co-led a project on the geopolitics of AI, together with RAND Europe, the University of Oxford and MIT. Before that, he served as a Senior Strategist at the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs.
Daan holds a BSc in Mathematics, a BA in Philosophy, and an MSc in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from the University of Groningen.
